Praying Mantis via 35mm film. I believe this is a European Mantid male, but I could definitely be wrong. Please correct me if you can. please check out the other shots: [link] [link] [link]
I was on my friend's property one incredibly hot autumn day taking photos. My boyfriend and I just remet our friend &he said he saw a praying mantis a bit before we returned. I was sad as we were about to leave and I had my camera on me with the film loaded. As we were walking to the car, he landed on a plant beside me and allowed me to take a few shots from different angles, this is the 2/3. please view the others: [link]
---A few facts I've found on countless sites:
Mantid is the name encompassing all praying mantis (praying mantis is a specific type of mantid). Did you know that mantids can turn their heads up to 180 degrees? Some mantids develop wings and can fly. They live for about a year. Mantids have great vision. &They are believed to be in the cockroach family.
